Carmalissa Jackson was born on February 13,1972, to Robert Fluker and Geneva Jackson in Chicago, Illinois. Pumpkin (Carma), as she was affectionately known giving the nickname by her cousin Sylvester(decease).
Carma graduated from Pope elementary school and attended and graduated from Collins High School.
Carma confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Shelvin Jerome Hall. In her youth, she was an active member at Friendship, singing in the youth choir—seizing her moment of “STARdom” when she led the song “Perfect Praise” also known as “How excellent,” Carma was also one of the directors of the youth choir.
Carma continued to find joy in God and music throughout her life, Carma enjoyed singing with her family and was often referred to as one of the singers of the family as her voice touched so many people.
Carma worked for Fiserv for 8 years. She later worked for Rush University Medical Center for 6 years where she dedicated her time to helping people and maintaining a clean environment.
Carma also cherished long hot summer days spending lots of time with her two grandchildren and cooking, we all know she love throwing down on the grill.
Carma was a very bold, outspoken, kind, generous, loving, and caring person. She loved to laugh and spending time with family and brought joy wherever she went.
Carma departed this life on Saturday, December 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Fluker, her brother Don L Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Geneva Jackson of Chicago: three Children - Marcus Lacking (Chicago), Melissa Jackson (Chicago), Nala Johnson-Jackson (Chicago);Two grandchildren that she loved dearly Skylar Moore (Chicago) and Sa’Niyah Moore (Chicago): One sister- Jeanette Jackson (Chicago) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love and miss her dearly
